Years End

Can't believe it's already December and that 2009 is over. It seems like just yesterday when I moved back into CVB and started my 3rd year here at SJSU. I would have to say 2009 has been the most exciting year yet. Met alot of good people in my life and had lots of fun while doing so. Partying, RLXing, drinking, and so much more has also contributed to the fun. All in all these experiences helped to make my college life more enjoyable and i'm just glad i'm not one of those people who is at home all day and doesn't get a chance to actually experience life. Cheers to 2009 and let's all hope 2010 only gets better :)

on that note, i would like to bring back this throwback...does anyone remember when this picture blew up on the interwebz??

thanksgiving highlights

So my Thanksgiving break started on Wednesday. After some miscommunication I ended up taking the Caltrain home and met up with my friend Jesse for some "dinner" I guess. More like we just needed a place to talk and catch up. It seems forever since I last went home and chilled with people. So we went to Wendy's.

Thursday was pretty epic. Started the day with Thanksgiving LUNCH with my family. We had a BIGASS turkey that my dad BOUGHT lol suckaaaaas saved time on cooking there! then we also had eggrolls, fried shrimp, macaroni salad, potato salad, regular salad, and some Vietnamese food. Food was pretty good for just waking up, Turkey got me all sleepy...Then at around 6pm my cousin came by to pick me and my brother up to go to our other cousins house for a just cousins Thanksgiving dinner. We had Prime Rib, baconcheddar mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, bacon/asparagus, and some rasberry beer to top it off. dessert we had waffles with ice cream and dark chocolate shavings.

first time i toked with my cousins too. had no idea they were into that stuff. i picked up a dub and we used his vape and got some good cousin bonding done. that probably was the highlight of my thanksgiving '09 haha

Friday got to chill with some friends. watched ninja assassin and ate korean food. got some quicklys and then met up with some other friends and toked the night awayyyyyy. 2 fatty blunts and endless bowls = trip to Nation's. i got a cheeseburger with grilled onions, french fries, and a slice of banana creme pie mmmm hit the spottt

saturday went to my friend Billy's house and had some more Thanksgiving food. played some card games, had some THC honey from the club, played kings cup and high card. too lazy to type out the details but it was a fun night with good people. got home late and KTFO.

now back in san ho, no ones in the apt and im waiting for karen to get back =)

Garage, iMD Grand Opening, Alleycat

I'm sorry for my lack of blogging as of late, haven't had a chance to sit down and actually write up everything that has been happening lately.

So this weekend just happened to be the best weekend I've had in a loooooooooong time. Everything seemed to be so surreal and I am sad that it is over and we're all back to reality.

My weekend started with Friday where I had a wonderful night out with thegirlthatimkindaseeingordating :) The two of us have had a rough week of school work and who knows what else, so this outing was just what we needed. We were looking for a place to go out and eat that wasn't too far from campus and she brought up The Garage. The Garage is a nice, cozy lil eatery hidden near the 7-11 on San Carlos & 11th St.

We had a nice sit down dinner there. I had the Angus Burger and she had some kind of delicious curry chicken and sweet potato fries combo. Afterwards we watched I Love You Man. She liked the movie and I have not watched it so we watched it, and I loved it. Seemed like the perfect movie to watch after a delicious meal.

The following day, Saturday, was the big iMinusD Grand Opening and the 4th and last installment in the W.R.A.P. Alleycat series. After the race was also the trick competition that JP had put together known as Quantum. However, since RATZ and SARDINES already purchased our Tiësto tickets, we didn't want to tire ourselves before the big night, so all of us decided to just help out at checkpoints for the alleycat.

Photo-0019

I worked the last checkpoint which was at Piedmont Hills. I ended up jumping on the STAFF last minute and worked it with Wah, Truong, and Holly. Because Wah had a craving for some Taco Bell, we came up with the idea for the racers who pass by our checkpoint to down a packet of Fire Sauce before they proceed to the finish at iMINUSD. Big props to Mark and the rest of the iMD family who put this all together and to all the racers who competed in this alleycat! Sucks that I missed out on Quantum, Gnarcotix, TCC catering, and the rest of the shenanigans that happened...

early weekend starts NOW!

This morning I dragged myself to my 9am class after going to bed at maybe 4-5am due to RLXing and noodle parties with the RATZ. Only thing is I show up to class only to find a sign on the door that says class has been CANCELLED! I check my email and discovered my professor had emailed the class at 8:50am, 10 minutes prior to class, saying that he was too sick and was sent home by the head of the dept. Wednesday is a holiday, Thursday is one class, and Friday is a furlough day, so it looks like I am pretty much done for the week!

Weather's been cold as tits and I hope I don't get infected by my sick roommates...

Here are a few videos I've been watching...

Eventful Weekend in SF

soooooo this weekend i initially wanted to just stay in SJ and chill with my homies and everything, but certain things came up and i was needed back at home.

first i found out my cousin from Australia was in town for a few days so i wanted to come home and spend some time with her and her husband while they were in the US. i believe last time i saw her was when i was still in middle school and i was shorter than her, but now more than 6 years later, everyone seems to have gotten older.

i decided to come back home on thursday and skip my friday class to spend time with my cousins. was going to take caltrain, but last minute ended up getting a ride from raymon. nigga smoked me out and we got back in the city just in time for dinner. my cousins and i ate dinner at Absinthe, which is apparently Top Chef's Jaymie's restaurant. the food was amazinggggg. a tad upscale, but my older, working cousins was covering the bill heh. i got the scallops and clam chowder for my appetizer and the grilled halibut. i also got to drink some champagne too cuz i was the youngest at that dinner and everyone else was 21 already!

the next day on friday we decided to take my cousin bike riding across the GGB. they all rented bikes, while i brought my fixed gear. since i was one of the more experienced riders, i was put in charge to lead the pack, and i did! we started in North Beach, went thru Crissy Fields, across the bridge, and into Sausilito where i got a flat, sucks. there we got to eat lunch, eat some ice cream, and then finally jumped on the fairy to head back to SF.

and lastly, saturday was devoted to miss jennifer's bday. we started off by going to Hokkaido in San Mateo for a lil lunch buffet. haven't been there for lunch before, and i'd say its pretty much the same as dinner i guess. food wasn't bad tho. afterwards we were introduced to bryan's penis cake that he baked for jenn.

after lunch we all went our separate ways. me and jenn went to get alcohol for later that night when we went karaokeing. i used my brothers id no problem to get some cognac and some other drinks. totally forgot and gave them my debit card with MY name on it when i was paying for it but its ok cuz the store owner seemed pretty chill. i then proceeded to andrews house to chill for a bit. then went to hollys house. tried helping her with her hair then met up with jesse, smoked up and got some subway. later on met up with jenn, joanne, mindy, bryan, andrew, and jesse for karaoke in the fillmo. had a few shots, sang my heart out, and my throat was killing me. all in all a fun day. hope your bday was enjoyable for you too JENNIFERRR.

**got lazy to post and kinda gave the shortened version at the end haha
***will update with pictures soon as i track down pics from everyones cameras from this weekend

SHROOMS

Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon: The End of Day

last night i watched He's Just Not That Into You and i have to admit it's a pretty good movie. i was expecting some kind of a chick flick about relationships and some corny ending in the end, but this movie was more realistic. i felt bad watching the movie seeing how girls get so caught up in guys and what not. me, being on the other side, never stopped to view the girls' perception of this 'love game' that we all play.

there were many memorable quotes from the movie that i find is very true, but i don't remember it exactly and i'm too lazy to look it up.

i'll just say that the movie got me thinking about my own life...

the end has come...

so today was the last day of summer because first day of instruction is tomorrow! sighhhh can't believe the summer went by so fast already.

i finished moving into my apt on saturday. it feels kind of weird being back in sj after so long, but it also feels good at the same time. feels good to see and hang out with people i haven't seen the entire summer cuz they're from different areas.

i'm living with my roommate from last year again, along with 2 friends from high school, and 2 random people. so far it seems like this year won't necessarily be the same as last year. i haven't talked to the new roommates for that long yet, but they seem like they're nice people and all but not really people i see myself hanging out with. and one of them doesn't really like the smoking of weed in the apt, but that's because of a bad previous experience. hopefully he'll gradually be ok with it, and even join us sometime!

and when the school year starts, its that time where i won't be seeing my friends from hs and work anymore. everyone seems to have a really fun time chillin and everything in the summer and once summer ends, it's time to depart again. it's a sad thing that i won't see most people again until the big holidays where people actually do come home from college. i'm going to miss everyone and we shall see each other again when the holidays come...

lastly, school is tomorrow and i'm not ready for classes to start again...i only have three classes so far, and need to try to add 2 more classes this week. i'm not even sure who's gonna be in my classes yet. all i can hope is that there will be chill people in there, professor won't be too boring, and the class won't be too hard! well time for me to shower and sleep now, wish me luck!

it's been awhileeeee

Wellll now, I have not even touched my blog at all for the longest time and after reading other peoples' blogs I feel like I should write something now haha.

So this year summer was actually pretty good. Other summers consist of me staying up late, sleeping in til 2pm, and lounging around the house for the rest of the day. BUTTT this summer seemed like I was everywhere else BUT at home. I started to feel bad because I was never home for dinner, and I was always coming home late at night when my parents were sleeping already, so they would barely even see me. but I'm sure alot of other people have the same problem as me...

ok so I'm getting really lazy to finish this blog that I started about 3 hours ago, and I've just been slowly distracted everytime I started to write. sooooooooooooo I'll just make this short and simple...

Highlights of Summer '09:
- met a wonderful girl and have spent 2 wonderful months with her this summer :)

- went fishing and crabbing (doesn't matter if we caught anything or not lol)
- roadtrip to LA for EDC -- enough said.
- went to SC Beach Boardwalk with friends and had a day of funz!

"The Union"

For everyone who is against marijuana, I invite you to watch the first 30 minutes of this documentary and tell me if you are still against it. The main points that stood out while I watched this was...

- marijuana usage has reported ZERO deaths in the 10,000 years it has been used compared to tobacco with 430,000 deaths/year and alcohol with 85,000 deaths/year

- marijuana does NOT kill your brain cells

- marijuana does NOT give you lung cancer

The Tales of NCS

A macaroni and cheese box states that you should add 1/2 cup of milk into the pot in order for it to come out to their standards.

However, when i was cooking my dinner i noticed NCS used a 1/4 cup measuring cup to measure the amount of milk needed for his mac and cheese. BUTTTT when he filled up the cup, he filled up only 1/4 of the cup? I don't know why he did this. He filled up 1/4 or a 1/4 of a cup making it 1/16 cup of milk. Why he would fill up a 1/4 cup 1/4 of the way I still wonder. So in the end I told him he should fill up two of the 1/4 cups in order to get 1/2 a cup. And in the end the right amount of milk was added and it was the best mac and cheese he ever had.

Just another tale of NCS....

(more to come when I post up his other shenanigans)

No More Fucking Around

Last night, after a good nights sleep, I seemed to have one of those revelations where I wake up and I decide that I need to set goals in my life to keep myself motivated or else I will continue on my road of slacking off. I feel that if I actually want things to happen, I must keep myself motivated. With that being said, I am willing to make a pledge with myself and anyone else who wants me to succeed in life...

#1 I must pass all my classes for the rest of the Spring '09 semester During the spring break as I talk to all my friends who have come back to the city, they all seem like they are doing well in their classes. Not only are they passing their classes and staying motivated to getting A's in their classes, but they're are going above that by doing things to set them up for success in the future. Many people are getting internships or some kind of job to help them get experience for the future. Others (you know who you are) are finally getting their priorities straight and going to classes and achieving in class in order to get to where they want to be, and I admire that. Passing my classes is just the first step I need to take to become successful. Eventually, I must graduate college and find a good job in order to repay my parents for all their hard work in raising my brother and I.

#2 As much as I say it, and never do it, I will try to stop toking the way I have been lately. Even though I've had ALOT of fun and made some good memories and stories, I just don't have the money right now to be doing it. Spending too much money on something that is unnecessary. Most people got to experience that stuff in high school, but I didn't so I guess I let loose in college when I went through it. A lot of people who did it back then, don't do it much anymore and seems like it was just a phase in their life. I enjoyed learning about a whole new culture and lifestyle as well as all the chill people I've met and "relaxed" with. I'm sure that I will never give it up for GOOD, but I do have self-control and will constrain myself from it being a daily habit.

#3 I am going to try my best to make as much money as I can, and save as much money as I can. When I had jobs in the past, I loved it even though it was hard work. The reason? I loved being able to spend money on things I wanted, without having to go to my parents for support. I know my parents have been having money troubles lately, and I guess I haven't been the best son in helping them out. I hate relying on them for money because every time I would run out of money in my account, I would have to ask them and then they would know how much I spent because they're the ones putting the money into my account. If it were up to them, I wouldn't spend any money and would just work hard in school, yet that's not what reality is. I have hobbies, interests, and needs to spend money on. The thing is I need to distinguish between what I can hold off on and what I can afford getting. Which segways into my next point...

#4 I will find a job this summer in order to save up money to purchase a car. I feel that at this point in my life a car is a necessity. I always appreciate those who give me rides home (Jesse, Jenn, Holly, Andrew) and that is why I want a car of my own after all these years. I always feel like I am burdening them, and that they are going out of their way to drive me home. Having a car would be so much easier, I would be able to transport myself where ever I go and be more independent in general. I have been looking around on Craigslist and the car I want is the Mitsubishi Eclipse (1995-1999). It only cost ~4k-5k and I think I can make at least 1k or 2k in the summer if I work a lot. If I can pay for at least half the car, my brother chips in for the other half, and my parents cover the insurance, I think it would doable.

#5
and last but not least, my body is important to me so I pledge to get back into shape. I love working out, I love how I progress when I do, and I love it when people notice. Lately I have been building up a lil gut and when I look in the mirror, I am not impressed. Last semester there were times when I went to the gym religiously everyday, or at least 2x a week. This semester I've gone to the gym a total of 2x. Along with my #2 pledge, I am going to run more to lose some of that munchies weight and to go to the gym 2-3x a week. As soon as I can, I am also going to get some more protein powder and start drinking a shake or two everyday to up my protein intake everyday in order to gain some potential muscle mass.

This has been quite a long blog, and I thank anyone who took the time to read it. This is to better myself and I am hoping I can achieve all these goals by next year at most. Help me stay on my path and keep me reminded of my goals, FIGHTING!

Kim Jong Kook - Today More Than Yesterday

(I DO)
Can you look at one person for the rest of your life? (I DO)
Can you care for someone else more than you do yourself? (I DO)
I can answer whoever asks me (I DO)
You, you're my love

I will not promise you
If I knew i was going to waver, even for a little bit
I don't start anything, If I know that the heart can heal itself

I love you more than I did yesterday
I have never met someone so important and precious to me
that it hurts, to meet you
to feel this happiness
I must have dealt with a lot of pain.

When the days are hard, it gets sad
The pain that causes the tears to come
it will end someday
the only thing that is endless is our love

I love you more than I did yesterday
I have never met someone so important and precious to me
that it hurts, to meet you
to feel this happiness
I must have dealt with a lot of pain

I dont want to do this ever again
breaking-up unless it's a break-up to meet you once more
whenever and forever

Because it feels like my overwhelming heart will explode
because I think the person before my eyes isn't really you
I run, and embrace the breathing you
I am the idiot, who let go of his worries

I love you more than I did yesterday
I have never met someone so important and precious to me
that it hurts, to meet you
to feel this happiness
I must have dealt with a lot of pain

i hope i will find someone who can make me feel like this...

stay relaxedddd

weekdays have been nothing but school work. homework, classes, quizes/tests keep me pretty occupied during the week. weekends in sj have been pretty fun. ALOT of relaxing and riding. some days during the weekend are strictly: wake and bake, FEAST, ride/tarck, relaxxx, FEAST, ride some more, comeback FEAST, shower and sleep at 5am.

even though these weekends are pretty fun chillen and relaxing, sometimes a change is good as well. the other night went to a music concert with a good friend cuz we had to watch it for class. it was chill cuz we usually only talk in class and this was the first time we had a chance to talk OUTSIDE of class and it felt good. after the concert, grabbed a bite to eat at Sa-By Thai? food was pretty good and filling, good chance to talk there too. all in all, good night away from SJF and all the other idiots i hang out with on a regular day.

met and talked to a few females casually without looking like a complete idiot for once. and it was all thanks to mary jane haha. i really believe it helps people to loosen up and have their real personality come out. no fear about saying the wrong things, and just speaking about what it truley on your mind. and for the most part THAT is what girls really like...

1. I am extremely into Korean music at this point of my life. It's gotten to the point where I don't even know what the new English songs are that play on the radio when I'm with friends. But it's not just korean music, I try to stay up to date on their lives and current projects or whatever shows/appearances they have been on. I have even passed on this obsession to my good friend Jesse haha!

2. I MUST have on a fresh, tight wife beater. I can't stand it when the beater is stretched out, which is why I don't wear it to sleep.

3. I went to a Catholic school from K-8, so I know a little bit about Catholicism even though I am not myself.

4. People have told me I give good advice about relationships and what not, but I can't seem to follow my own advice.

5. I am probably the worst speller in the world. When I don't know how to spell a word I want to use when I'm chatting or FBing I tend to google the word and then use it to make myself sound smart ;P

6. People who know me know that I have a bad case of OCD and will constantly clean around me. I am like this only because my mom always made me clean my room and stuff around me, so I guess it always stuck with me. It also shows through my house (for people who have been to it) because it is spotless.

7. All of my mom's side of the family live in Connecticut and I love going there for summer vacation because the family is so big. My mom has maybe 10 siblings or so, and each one of them have like 2+ kids, so I have alot of cousins to chill with over there.

8. I'm not THAT much into sports as most guys are. I still watch sports and know how to play it and know who's playing, but I'm just not a hardcore sports adict like some people I know.

9. When I was younger my brother would spend his time playing video games or pretending to play sports, while I play with action figures or use my imagination to play with the toys I had. I would even sometimes make my own toys. Example: I used to watch WWF alot so I made my own World Heavyweight Championship belt that I pretend to own.

10. Freshman year of hs I attended Phillip and Sala Burton Academic High School because I did not get into Lowell in 8th grade. Because I was so sheltered in elementary/middle school, I wasn't exposed to the real world as much as I should've so when I entered Burton I was shocked by the "scary people", muggings, shootings, drugs, sex, and who knows what else. Classes there were a joke because no one in the class really concentrated on school work, but instead messed around in class. The only class that was decent was my English Honors class (which was majority aZn). It was that class where I actually met some cool people, too bad I didn't K.I.T.

11. Freshman year I tried riding my friends fixed gear bike and fell in love with the feeling. Since then I've had 2 fixed gear bikes, spent clost to 1k on parts and labor, but enjoy every minute of it.

12. As a child I was really rebellious and wild. I used to drink packets of butter from KFC for shocks and laughs in front of my cousins.

13. Because I had so many baby cousins that I took care of in Connecticut, I feel like I'm good with kids. Most people are scared of babies and try to avoid them. I like to make babies laugh and taking care of them, there's just someone about their laughter that makes me feel good.

14. I enjoy working out. I like the idea of having muscles and being "cut". The main reason I do it is not only for my own benefits, but also for girls. I love it when girls compliment me such as "Oh, have you been working out?" It makes me feel like all the lifting and being sore was worth it.

15. I have different phases of music in my life. There were points where I listen to rock/alternative and other points where I listen to trance. No matter what, I'll always listen to rap/hip-hop. I think it's from growing up in "the city"; all the hyphy music gets to everyone somehow. I also like listening to rnb, especially when there's a girl in my life, those songs always help.

16. My first job ever was working at the Waffle Cone Shop/Dreyer's Ice Cream at Pier 39. I scooped ice cream for tourists and got a monster of a forearm from it. I quit after that one summer because all my workers were chinese and/or FOBS and only spoke cantonese to one another and I never understood.

17. Although I am half Chinese and Vietnamese, I tend to embrace my Vietnamese side more, and NOT because I hate my Chinese side or I am ashamed of it (no matter what I say). My family is just more Vietnamese in celebrating traditions, speaking the language, and the food we eat and cook. When I was younger I did know a lot of Catonese, but as I started preschool and 3 languages was too hard to juggle.

18. I am more of a night person and tend to always stay up late at night doing absolutely nothing. I've had nights where I stay up so late that the sun starts to rise. You can usually find me on AIM until at least 2 or 3am every night.

19. I am notoriously known for being a sloth. When I don't have to wake up for anything the following day, I can sleep for the entire day, and although it feels so good to sleep for so long I hate it. I hate sleeping the whole day away, and waking up to eating dinner and in a few hours having to go back to sleep.

20. I enjoy singing even though I know I can't and I annoy everyone around me hates it. Shuttup and join me! It's the funnest when you don't try and just sing for fun.

21. I'm a big fan of cheese. I can eat cheese all day, and have done so eating mozerella sticks all day. I like bread too, I can usually eat bread by itself, or even better bread+cheese =O

22. Freshman year me and my neighbors in the dorms got a chance to sneak into the HP Pavilion in San Jose because one of my neighbors was a security guard there. He turned all the security cameras around to let us into the place. I got a chance to slide around on the ice that the San Jose Sharks play on, walk around the corridors after hours, walk into the VIP lounges, and stand on top of the HP Pavillion overlooking the entire city. Too bad we saw cops roll by, freaked out, and ran out back into the car.

23. I like wearing hats, or fitted hats to be more exact. I guess it's because I never got to wear them when I was younger. My collection is still growing, but I probably have (or have had) 15+ hats. 4 of them being the regular SF Giants one, because I keep ruining them due to rain or sweat.

24. People who I tend to see alot through out my daily life, yet I don't know their name, I make up a nickname for them. Me and my friends tend to do that also. It seems more fun when you and your friends have nicknames for people (even though sometimes you know their real name). It creates an inside joke that only you and your friends understand. We have tried creating a list of all the nicknames of the people in our lives, but it turns out to be an endless list.

25. I like pornography.

Lazy Wednesday...

Weather in SJ had been whack as of late. I went to my 7:30am chem lab this morning and that was the only class I went to. Skipped two other classes because weather did not permit me to go hah. Calculus is kicking my ass and I am scared that I will not pass, especially when the teacher tells everyone on the first day of class that the passing rate is only 60% O_O. That means 40% of the class will fail the course...

Shit I'm going to be up all night trying to finish calculus hw due tomorrow, while being distracted by facebook, youtube, sjfixed.org, and THIS BLOG.

First Blog

Well I've been meaning to start blogging again, and here is the start of it...

This past weekend has been all crazy: SJF, parties, beer, rides, and relaxxxinggggg. Sunday was SJF's first alleycat (135 racers, 5 checkpoints, 25mi). Me and "CVB Fixed" got a disgraceful 2:58, but it's ok because we finished!

Today I'm feeling sick as fuck. I shouldn't have been tarcking last night with just a longsleeve on, dick move on my part. I want to go on the ride tonight, but I have too much homework to catch up on and I would probably get more sick if I went.

Still new to this blogspot stuff, will get into it more as I go along...be my friend!
